I wasn’t planning to hire a comedian for our annual fundraiser. In fact, the idea had never occurred to me. But then I attended a fundraising event for the Youth Services Bureau last week with a couple of colleagues. The entertainment included a really amusing comedian. He did a very original act that involved both music and comedy. He played various instruments while singing well-known songs. However, he also changed the lyrics to make the songs funny. It was impressive. I enjoyed the comedian’s act very much and so did my colleagues. Afterwards, we talked about hiring a similar comedy act for our own fundraiser and we all agreed that it would be a nice addition to the evening. Of course, now I have to track down a great comedian that we can hire. I’m not sure how difficult that will be. There must be tons of comedians in the area who could put on a good performance for our fundraising event.
